The Spanish Platform for Modeling, Simulation and Optimization Technologies in a Digital Environment (PET MSO-ED), with reference PTR2020-001163, is funded by the State Research Agency, Ministry of Science and Innovation, within the call for grants to Technology and Innovation Platforms, of the State Program for Research, Development and Innovation Oriented to the Challenges of Society, in the framework of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2017-2020 and is promoted by the Spanish Mathematics-Industry Network (math-in®).

It is also financially supported by the Red Temática Matemática-Industria (RTmath-in, RED2018-102514-T), funded by MCIU-AEI.

The overall objective of the Spanish Platform for Modeling, Simulation and Optimization Technologies in a Digital Environment (PET MSO-ED) is to enhance and strengthen collaboration in R&D&I between the public and business sectors, taking advantage of the potential of mathematics to address the challenges posed in the industrial world and in society. The aim is to provide the Spanish industrial, academic and business research and innovation community with a comprehensive and well-coordinated infrastructure for all the needs related to the adoption and development of Mathematical Modeling, Simulation and Optimization Technologies taking advantage of the resources of Data Science in a Digital Environment. This general objective is closely related to the search for a greater impact and return to society of the resources funded through basic research in the field of mathematics, the first link in the chain, and its subsequent transfer to the industrial fabric. Achieving this objective is essential to support an efficient, safe, sustainable and competitive industrial fabric, especially in the field of SMEs.
