184 European Study Group with Industry

From November 25 to 29, 2024, the 184th ESGI European Study Group with Industry will be held, thanks to the collaboration between the Spanish Network for Mathematics & Industry (math-in) and the Galician Center for Research and Mathematical Technology (CITMAga).

Initiated in Oxford in 1968, the European Study Groups with Industry (ESGI) serve as a forum for industrial scientists and mathematical researchers to work together on problems of interest to industry. This is an internationally recognized method for transferring technology and knowledge between Mathematics and Industry.

The objectives set for ESGI are:

  • to find solutions and ideas for existing industrial problems;
  • to establish lasting and productive working relationships between applied research mathematicians and industry;
  • to propose new lines of research based on business challenges;
  • to reinforce the importance of Mathematics in industry and the value of mathematical expertise within companies; and
  • to stimulate greater awareness within the community of the power of mathematics in providing solutions to real-world problems.

The 184th ESGI is co-financed by the Spanish Network for Mathematics and Industry (math-in) and the Galician Center for Research and Mathematical Technology (CITMAga).
